The Easiest Bun Tutorial Ever!!!

Want to make a full bun after you have washed your hair??? Welp here is how.

Not much is needed to accomplish a bun, but a brush, scrunchy, water bottle, and some jojoba oil (my favorite oil). Enjoy the video if you have any questions feel free to post them below and I answer them as soon as I can. Also if you have any type of video that you would like to see (how to's, tutorials, product reviews) let me know and I will attempt to post those as well.

Favorite Natural Hair YouTube Guru

Day 14... Favorite Natural Hair YouTube Guru. I have a slew of natural hair guru's that I watch daily. One day I will name them all but my all time favorite is torn between two, which is Shameless Maya and IvyCharlaine. I've watched IvyCharlaine grow from neck length to almost waist length straight. Shameless Maya is just a joy to watch she is hilarious and does different types videos not just hair. They both cut their hair recently for their own personal reasons but once again natural hair is not about how long your hair can grow but about how healthy your hair should be.

Its All About the Twist Out

Love Shameless Maya, if you haven't been on her YouTube page you must be under some kind of rock. She's dope and so is her hair, which by the way she shaved off completely... yes she shaved all of it off (you go girl) and she still is super pretty! Anyhoo I'm working on day three of a wash and go and its about time to do a twistout. There are two ways to do this, you can do a flat twist or you can do a regular two strand twist.  What's the difference?  A big one if you ask me which is the main reason I have a video posted below of Maya showing the two different ways. Initially you get the same pattern but for me when I do a flat two strand twist my curls are more defined. When I do a regular twist my curls are looser and a smidge less defined.

So today and tomorrow I am going to compare the two, doing a flat two strand twist tonight and tomorrow I will do a regular twist. Like I mentioned earlier I posted a video below of Maya doing both types. I'll also be sealing my ends with coconut oil which is my fave and using my spray bottle to have less frizz and more manageability.

Enjoy!!!

Tights into a Top?

Youtuber ItsMyRayeRaye turned a pair of tights into a pretty decent top that could definitely be worn out and about. Like qho would of thought something so simple could be used and turned into a top seriously! So creative I tell ya! She cut the feet off and then the middle part of the tights out and waa laa a shirt with sheer sleeves! I posted the video below of course so take a look and see if this up your alley.

Updo Protective Style

Lilith Moon on youtube is know for creating and breaking down some very pretty hairstyles. Although the videos are not geared towards natural hair community it could definitely still be used, especially for those who are doing protective hairstyles for the winter season. In this video she parted tucked and rolled the three sections in the back of her head after she had teased her crown. She also left out a few face framing pieces. For myself I did not tease my hair nor part the backe in three sections to tuck away. I only did two sections and pinned the ends, and for the face framing pieces I used curlformers as opposed to heat to make the curls that I was looking for.

Curly Hair Clip-Ins???

Instead of sewing my hair up this time around I am going to make clip-ins and just add these to my hair in the places where I think lacks the most. It's a pretty simple process definitely doesn't cost that much especially if you already have hair that matches your type of curl pattern which I do. The video I have posted below comes from my fave YouTuber Shameless Maya which I have featured her before. If you haven't checked her videos out...ya slippin' yeah I said it ya slippin (lol). In this video she shows you (up close) how to make these clips properly, once I make mines which will more than likely be today I will post pics of the results.

Materials needed:
1. Weave (of course)
2. Weave thread
3. A sewing needle
4. A pack if clips that matches your hair color

And that's it pretty simple concept and expensive depending on if you have the hair or not. And the clips if done correctly will stay, they are pretty flipping sturdy if you ask me. So try it out and let me know how it goes for you.

Enjoy!!!

BUNS!!!

While cruising on YouTube I ran across this video of the different buns that can be achieved. A bun for each day of the work week. What made this video even better is the fact that they give you a step by step tutorial without any talking (*_*). Yes those are my favorite kind of YouTube videos mainly because I'm a visual learner and talking sometimes can distract me. However enjoy and subscribe to their channel: UKHairWeaves.

Enjoy!

The Proper Way to Deep Condition

The are plenty benefits of deep conditioning your hair, however if it is done incorrectly you could be causing more harm than good to your hair. Here are a few tips when deep conditioning your hair.

1. Oils
    - use oils that penetrate your hair (coconut oil, olive oil, avocado oil).

2. Alcohol Free Conditioners
    - alcohol strips your hair of its needed nutrients, refrain from it.

3. Section your hair
-pretty simple,  section your hair so that detangling is easier as well as making  sure that the conditioner is evenly distributed.

4. Heat
-heat opens up the hair shaft therefore allowing the conditioner to enter. A hooded dryer can achieve this or a steamer.

5. Rinse with Cold Water
    - cool water closes the hair shaft which then locks the conditioner in.
Down below is a YouTube video of Ivy Charlaine showing you how to deep condition your hair. Follow her on instagram and YouTube: IvyCharlaine and on Twitter: @ivycharlaine

Curlformers...again

So I use curlformers often, it makes my hair semi straight and gives me the curls that I want. And since I do not make YouTube videos I figured I could share this video with you all to show you how to use these lovely curlers properly. Her YouTube channel is LaurenMechelle and In this video I believe she blow dries her roots I however do not, I let it everything air dry. This process does take a minute and you want to make sure that your hair is completely dry before you take the curlformers out or it will not come out correctly.

Much love,
Bri

Lust Item of the Week...

While surfing my fave YouTube channels (makeupdoll, JulieGBeauty, fabulasityisme to name a few) I noticed that this particular make up item continually kept popping up in almost every video I watched. And..... its BH Cosmetics!!! So I went to their website www.bhcosmetics.com to see what they had to offer and how much it was going to cost, and surprisingly?!?!...it was not that expensive and they have a TON of colors in one palette 120 to be exact. The colors are amazing and appear to be really pigmented, which is a good thing for my skin tone. And the prices range anywhere from like $11.00 bucks to like $20.00 bucks (that's the prices that I remember for the palettes I wanted lol). Anyhoo I'm trying to narrow down on which palette I want to try first I'm torn between the 4th, 5th, party girl, and the 88 cool color shimmer palette. I will post pics down below of those and if you have a suggestion please feel free to help out and leave comments on what you prefer or think about BH cosmetics because I am seriously torn.

Much love,
Bri
