Growth

Growth is noticed mostly by the length of your hair, however for curly girls that is not the only factor. When I started my no heat journey in 2011 my hair barely curled up, it was more like waves. Now in 2015 my hair is very curly and the volume of my hair has increased as well. The wonderful thing about taking pictures of your hair growth journey is that you actually see the growth in your hair, and in my case I really needed to see it. I thought that my hair wasn't growing at all, when in fact it was growing in the volume of my hair and in my curl pattern which are big indicators of hair growth. Lets just say I am pleased with the progress! The first picture was taken in 2011, my how time flies! The second one was taken in July 2015.

Length Check!

Check out where my hair length is in my new video!

A few things to know, my ultimate hair goal is for purely strong and healthy hair. If I get to my goal length than that is a bonus however I am not aiming for length I'm aiming for healthy hair. But it is fun to see my hair grow and I am curious to see if I am retaining any length at all, so why not chart it and watch it grow. So my goal length is 14 inches by next summer. I'm already at 10 inches in the back, 11 inches in the middle, and 9 inches at the top. Is this goal possible yes, will I cry if I don't get to my goal length, absolutely not. With all the moisturizing that I will be doing and deep treatments I believe that this goal is very attainable.

I'm Back!!!

So I took a year hiatus... Learned a few things about myself, went through some struggles and came out on top. In the process though I neglected my hair (sadly) had a couple of set backs, bad salon experiences and to tight weaves. However as of September I reverted back to being natural at a certain point you just get tired, tired of stringy ends and misshaped curls. So here are my rules for myself:

1. No weave till the end of December possibly.

2. No heat on a regular basis, just at the end of the month to do length checks.

3. Moisturize my hair when needed.

4. Find my holy grail of products.

That's what I have brainstormed so far, I will keep you posted on my journey. Also I started to do youtube videos so that you can see what I'm doing, and what works for my hair.

The Easiest Bun Tutorial Ever!!!

Want to make a full bun after you have washed your hair??? Welp here is how.

Not much is needed to accomplish a bun, but a brush, scrunchy, water bottle, and some jojoba oil (my favorite oil). Enjoy the video if you have any questions feel free to post them below and I answer them as soon as I can. Also if you have any type of video that you would like to see (how to's, tutorials, product reviews) let me know and I will attempt to post those as well.

Enjoy!!!

Natural Hair Update

So I know I haven't been persistent with my natural hair updates mainly cause I have been hiding my hair under weave as you all know. Cutting to the chase my hair has visibly grown I haven't measured but I'm assuming its 10 to 11 inches. I also got my hair trimmed to finally and properly and I can't wait to see what it looks like curly.

Made the Clips!!!

I finally made the clip-ins (don't judge me) and I am in love!!! It took me a minute to make sure that the clips were sturdy and wouldn't slip off. The material used was: a sewing needle, sewing thread, glamour house of hair, and 10 packs of clips. It took me and hour to make 5 tracks with two clips on one track. Althouh I am pleased with the outcome I am going to double up the two clips in the back so that it is fuller.

Much Love,
Bri

#Curlconfession

So Paul Mitchell decided to dedicate a whole line to curly girls and has invited us curly girls to a #curlconfession. Basically if your on Twitter (I am @BriRose26) or on instagram (BriRose26) hashtag #curlconfessions so that you can have the possibility of winning some free samples. Or you can go to www.truthaboutcurls.com and follow the directions there as well. I've already done hashtag #curlconfession on Twitter and I am about to do the same on instagram and go to their website as well. I did not see a deadline, but that could be due to lack of reading everything, so the sooner the better essentially!!!

Much Love,
Bri

Kinky Curly Coily Me Check In

Week 1 is underway and here is the questions that Kinky Curly Coily Me asked for the challenge along with my responses.
www.kinkycurlycoilyme.com

1. How long have you been natural? Did you big chop or transition?
    - I have been natural since birth I have never had a perm. However I use to be the queen of a flat iron and I had to stop due to heat damage and thin hair (not cute).

2. Is this your first time participating in the castor oil challenge?
    - Yes it is, I have never even used castor oil in my hair before so this should be interesting.

3. What is motivating you to participate in this challenge?
    - I want to reap the benefits of healthy full set of hair, and if using castor oil will help me achieve this then I will definitely be using it.

P.S. The last day to enter in this challenge is September 7, 2012.

Much Love,
Bri
